A Private Community for a Creator is a business.
And it's the most "low-hanging" and lucrative business to start and grow...
It doesn't mean it is (or has been) easy to start, maintain, and grow.
However, saying that Private Communities are bad is like saying businesses are bad.
There are bad businesses, and there are thriving ones as well.
There are low-quality private communities, and there are extremely high-quality ones.
Now, let's dive deep into the rabbit hole of Private Communities...

Why is it "low-hanging"?
Memecoins proved that we live in an attention economy driven by Communities, Culture, AND Creators.
Creators are attention magnets and that's why they can build massive communities around them....
Now, there is an interesting statistic to look at:
1-8% of a Creator's free follower base are more than willing to pay for closer access to the Creator.
Web2 Creators are more aware of this, which is why Private Community platforms such as Patreon, YouTube Premium, Substack, and Skool are on an astronomical rise.
Web3 Creators, on the other hand, are having a hard time making the zero to one step.
Partially because we lack the right tools that are in alignment with Web3 Creators (recurring onchain payments, seamless UX, de-platforming resistance, and the list goes on...)
Also, there's kind of a bad stigma around "Paid Groups,"
which makes total sense in our beloved industry, as many paid groups have been created by people with short-term, bad intentions (just as in the business world, not everyone has the drive or values to build a legitimate business...).

What's the other side of this coin?
We can already see high-quality creators running their solid private communities.
We collected a few examples and will share an overview of them.
The reason we think it's important to show the value/benefits is to answer the right question from the "end user's perspective":
Is it worth it?
You'll see monthly prices ranging around 100 bucks, which COULD seem like too much for many...
But here's the question:
How much money could you save or generate by making informed decisions, catching trends, projects, and trades early, and having mentors on your side who've been in the game for 7-8-10+ years...
If you were here during the last bull run, you know that even a swap fee could get above 100 dollars on the Vitalik coin network...

The value of a private community lies in the expertise of Creators.
Access to such private communities can offer an edge and substantial ROI through informed decision-making and early access to trends and opportunities.
While, as we said, there are bad actors in this space, there are STELLAR, hard-working Creators who treat their Private Communities as businesses and constantly provide value there.
There are Creator legends who constantly share their knowledge here on X without having a Private Community, for which I think we all are extremely grateful, without them, we would have bare to no knowl(edge)...
However, this doesn't mean those who have good intentions and work hard to provide value are BAD for trying to monetize the attention they've built around them.
We'll explore this topic in greater depth, but we wanted to share our views on Private Communities and the potential win-win opportunity for both Creators and their Communities.
